PreSAF instruments

PreSAF instruments

The PreSAF instruments are rotary glidepath instruments, used for the initial preparation of the root canal in the cases of narrow root canals or a re-treatment. The PreSAF instruments are made of heat-treated controlled-memory wire (martensite state) Nickel Titanium (NiTi), for increased flexibility and safety. Compatible with conventional dental endodontic motors.

The PreSAF instruments are available in a pre-sterile blister packages:

- Refill packages of 5 instruments, for each type, in length of 21mm, 25mm or 29 mm.

- Assortment package of PreSAF FLARE, PreSAF GLIDE and PreSAF PREP, of 3 files of 25mm.

The PreSAF instruments include:

PreSAF FLARE: an orifice shaper, to be used in cases of narrow root canal orifices. Has a non-active safety tip. Used for coronal flaring, of up to 3 mm into the canal, at a speed of 250-400 rpm, with torque limitation 3 N.cm.

PreSAF GLIDE: used for the initial glidepath preparation for the SAF System in root canals with an initial size of ISO #10 (as confirmed by a hand file). Used for glidepath preparation, to working length, at a speed of 250-400 rpm, with torque limitation 1.2 N.cm. Requires the use of a PreSAF PREP in order to prepare the canal for the operation of the SAF 1.5 mm.

PreSAF PREP: used for the initial glidepath preparation for the SAF System in root canals with an initial size of ISO #15 (as confirmed by a hand file). Has a decreasing alternating taper, for increased flexibility and control. Used for glidepath preparation, to working length, at a speed of 250-400 rpm, with torque limitation 1.5 N.cm. Prepares the root canal for the operation of the SAF 1.5 mm.

PreSAF RETREATMENT: used for the removal of previous obturation materials (gutta percha or other) during re-treatment. Prepares a glidepath for the SAF System in root canals that have gone through a root canal treatment and were obturated. Used to working length, at a speed of 600-1000 rpm, with torque limitation 2.5 N.cm. Following the removal of the existing obturation material, the size of canal should be evaluated by a hand file, and the compatible SAF should be used: 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm or 3.0 mm.
