Oval maxillary 2nd premolar

Case description

This re-treatment case of a maxillary 2^nd premolar (#15) was due to a lacking root canal treatment, and chronic apical periodontitis.

The main bulk of guttapercha was removed, and the SAF System was operated for 4 minutes with continuous sodium hypochlorite irrigation.

The clinical photo demonstrates the oval shape of the root canal, and the final X-ray shows the penetration of sealer into a lateral canal on the distal side, exactly at the point of the apical lesion.

About Dr. Adam Zawadka 

Dr. Adam Zawadka graduated from the K. Marcinkowskiego Medical Academy in Poznan, in 2002. After his internship, he worked in private clinics in Poznań and Swarzędz.

He operates his private clinic since 2007, and his specialized clinic concentrates on endodontic care and endodontic surgery, pediatric dentistry and dental aesthetics, including the use of a dental microscope.

He is a specialist in pediatric dentistry since 2011.

Dr. Zawadka is a member of the Polish Endodontic Society (PTE), European Society of Endodontics (ESE) and the International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT).
